Papers, pencils and books, oh my!

You'd think after graduating from a prestigious university, you'd be on your way to accomplish bigger and better things. Who knew that bigger and better actually means, "Nothing to do at all with what you studied in school but you'll still earn a decent living!" That's right! You stress, slave and study to no end, constantly telling yourself that it is all worth it. That despite going to the end of the world and back to get a somewhat decent grade, the final result will be much better. You'll get into that graduate school you've had your eye on, back when you first started your post-secondary education.

Back then, it seemed that life was so happy, full of hope and prosper! By the end of your three or four years, it seems you have learned how to convince yourself that you're fine, even when you know there not. True, this is an important skill one should have (making the best out of even the worst situation), however, the point is that whatever dreams we may have had when we were younger, they have all been washed away.

So what has university taught us? Not how to take knowledge and use it for the betterment of society. No, it has taught you how to make dreams, and break them when things get too difficult. However, there are those who hold on to their dreams, and in this case, the question then becomes...when is it time to let go? When do you know that your dreams will NOT come true? When is time for us to be realistic, and face the music? I guess there's really nothing more to be done, then to continue to have faith in oneself, and to continue working on our dreams. I suppose sooner or later they're bound to come true. Who knows, maybe someone eventually feels sorry for us, and decides to reward our persistence. I guess I'll find out at some point. Perhaps I should postpone these questions until a few years. I might finally have an answer by then!
